Where better than Whitstable to get married? This is your special day, after all, and naturally you want to share it with family and friends not only in a special location but also in a venue that is equally original and full of character. East Quay Venue, housed within one of Whitstable’s oldest buildings located at the end of the east quay harbour, was originally the home of the Seasalter and Ham Oyster Fishery Company and, like the famous Oyster Stores, faced the shore so the oyster companies could keep a watchful eye over their precious oyster beds. Facing still onto that same shingle seashore, East Quay Venue retains the structural features and character from its coastal heritage past, offering a relaxed ‘shabby-chic’ ambience; a place that sits beside the beach and from where you can effortlessly wander to the water’s edge…whenever you choose. And the venue’s authentic seaside atmosphere and charm not only creates an unusual setting for a wedding it is an ideal place, too, for parties, anniversaries and all memorable celebrations.

Alternatively we have a downstairs licensed ceremony area for up to 70 guests, which also couples with the evening dance floor space.
Reception and Wedding Breakfast:
The East Quay Venue can accommodate up to 100 guests for the ceremony and drinks reception. We offer a variety of drink options for your drinks reception, including Champagne, Fever-Tree Spritz, Oysters and Canapés, all of which can be served and enjoyed outside on the shingle beach.
Our venue can accommodate up to 100 guests for the wedding breakfast, to which we can tailor the table arrangements and seating plans. Our menus vary from a Hog Roast, Lamb Spit Roast or to the more traditional sit down meal. The most popular is our newspaper print boxed fish and chips option, perfectly fitting for being on the beach. All of our produce is locally sourced, our fish has been caught by local fishermen who work out of the harbour, some of which whom have worked with our company for over 30 years. Whitstable is the home of reputedly the best oysters in the world, which we lay on our own beds and then dredge ourselves.
All of the catering is provided by our passionate, in-house chef team. We allow a variety of external companies to come in and enhance the couples day, including ice-cream bikes or van, sweet carts and popcorn machines, candy floss makers and cheese or wedding cakes.
